The Fast Phobia Eliminator
A phobia is an instance of single-event learning.
Isn't it amazing that people are able to learn a response to a particular
stimulus in this way? A phobia is also an irrational fear that causes a person
to respond physically in a way that is beyond conscious control. The Fast
Phobia Eliminator has been found effective for simple phobias and other
fearful responses to events including rape, and for fear of flying, fear of
snakes and bugs, and other traumatic instances.
Before you start the Fast Phobia Eliminator,
take a moment to sit down. Relax and think of place and time when you felt
totally safe, secure, and peaceful. There must be at least one time in your
life. Pick a specific moment in your life. If you cannot find a time that was
safe, secure and peaceful, make one up.
It is important you are able now to relax and put
yourself into this safe, secure, and peaceful event as if you were there now.
Totally safe, secure, and peaceful! Move your body around so you are sitting the
way you would have been sitting then, and breathing the way you were then, now.
See what you saw, hear what you heard, smelled, and tasted. Notice the feeling
of the air on your face. What colors do you see? Voices? Who is there? When you
are totally experiencing this event and feeling nicely safe, secure, and
peaceful, now STOP and look around. Focus on 2 or 3 things in the place
you are sitting in the present present moment.
Now, hold your hand up where you can see it and
snap your fingers. When you snap your fingers go back to the moment when you
were totally safe, secure, and peaceful. Make sure you are fully experiencing
the event; breathing as you were then now. Excellent! STOP and look around,
focusing on 2 or 3 things.
Now you are ready to begin. You can imagine
yourself in a movie theater looking at a movie screen, can't you? Imagine that
you are sitting in the middle of a movie theater looking up at a movie screen.
Now imagine that you see yourself in a movie where you are confronted with the
thing that caused you to have the fearful reaction. Remember you are in the
seats in the movie theater looking up at the screen. Notice whether the symptoms
are more or less intense. They should be less intense. Isn't that interesting?
Even if the symptoms started again, that's OK.
Snap your fingers and go back to the safe, secure, and peaceful place. When you
are ready, go to the next step. See yourself now in the projection booth of the
theater looking down and seeing yourself in the seats in the middle of the
theater looking at the screen. Just notice yourself in the seats, sitting in the
theater looking up at the screen.
Notice if the feelings are more, or are they less
intense than they were before as you are looking only at yourself in the seats
below. Good. Now if there are any uncomfortable physical symptoms left at all,
imagine you are at the inside door of the projection booth, looking into the
projection room. Inside you see only yourself looking down at the you that is
sitting somewhere down below in the movie theater, looking up at the movie.
Are the physical symptoms different than they
were before you started the Phobia Eliminator? Yes? Good job! Pat yourself on
the back. Yes, actually put your hand up and pat yourself on your back. Doesn't
that feel good?
One last time, think of the thing that you used
to be phobic about. Can you imagine a future time when you will be in a
situation that used to cause that phobic response and now you are OK about it?
Wonderful! To make sure those old feelings are gone, go and put yourself in a
real-life situation to test it out. Touch a snake, see a big bug, go up and down
an elevator, fly on an airplane; whatever matches the thing you wanted to
change. Imagine yourself doing it now with the resourceful feelings of being
safe, secure, and peaceful and then go do it. Really.
Could it be that easy? Yes, of course it can be
that easy, and it has been that easy for thousands of others like you. You are
very resourceful. Your brain and nervous system learn very quickly, don't they?
Be well.
